Frequently asked questions
What is a quit porn app?
A quit porn app is an app that helps you stop watching porn. Recovery apps give you progress tracking, lessons and a community, and blockers stop porn sites from loading.
How do I quit porn?
Make porn harder to reach, and change the habits around it. Block adult sites on the devices you use, remove apps and accounts that lead you to porn, notice the times and situations when you usually watch, and replace that time with something else. Many people also use a recovery app, a community or an accountability partner so they are not doing it alone.
What is the best app to quit porn?
If you want to block porn on a Windows PC with strong enforcement, choose Ascension. If you want a structured recovery program on your phone, choose QUITTR or Brainbuddy. If you want group accountability, choose Relay. If you want another person to see your activity, choose Covenant Eyes.
Are there free apps to quit porn?
Yes. Most recovery apps are free to download, with paid features. For blocking on a computer, family DNS filters such as CleanBrowsing, OpenDNS FamilyShield and Cloudflare for Families are free.
How long does it take to quit porn?
There is no fixed timeline, and it differs from person to person. Many recovery programs and online communities work in 90-day periods, and progress is usually tracked as days without watching porn.
Can an app block porn completely?
No app blocks everything. Blockers stop known sites and keywords, and filters such as Canopy check images as they load. Apps also differ in how hard they are to turn off.
What is the difference between a recovery app and a blocker?
A recovery app helps change the habit through tracking, lessons and community. A blocker stops porn sites from loading. They solve different parts of the problem and can be used together.
Should I use an accountability app or a blocker?
If you want another person to see your progress, use an accountability app. If you want porn sites to stop loading, use a blocker. Many people use one of each.
Is Remojo still available?
Remojo stopped offering its app in September 2024 and now runs a course and community program instead.
